AIMS Software product release news

AIMS is changing the way releases are built and delivered to clients, to better share new and improved features to help you on a daily basis. We will introduce minor releases alongside major updates. Minor updates will be smaller and should be very quick to release to clients. Major releases will require more time, and we are looking at ways to improve our procedures to make releases more efficient for ourselves and our clients.

There will be a release available on average each quarter, with roughly one major and three minor releases within a year. We intend to start this new strategy in the run up to AIMS 5.0.0, early in 2023. In order to start with a clean slate, we are currently going ahead with a 4.0.3 release which will include everything we have ready to date.

New features coming in our first quarter release at the start of 2023 include:

  • Chat feature – allows users to Instant Message (IM) each other, applicants can contact a service desk or grant manager, internally users can collaborate to manage a grant
  • Bulk re-assignment – improved feature to allow for re-assigning tasks or relationships in bulk, between a range of users.
  • Workflow – filter your internal tasks and activities by schemes/calls, so that one main workflow can easily serve many schemes
  • Two factor authentication – 2FA with email or SMS

There are other security and system features that will be included in this and future releases. Sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know more.

“AIMS technical support are fantastic, they listen to requirements of their customers and with every new release; there is always something novel to maintain the program up-to-date with our research schemes and the grant industry in general. “
